Every six months, The NEJM
Review CME Program offers an examination based on the most clinically
relevant articles appearing in NEJM. After successful completion (a score
of 70% or better is required, with one opportunity for remediation) you will receive a certificate from the
Massachusetts Medical Society for 50 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits or
AAFP Prescribed credits. You also receive a full critique of the
questions and answers with your evaluation and reference sources.
OBJECTIVES
After critically evaluating specific
articles published in the New England Journal of Medicine, participants
in the NEJM Review CME Program should be able to demonstrate an interest
in, or affirmation of, their knowledge of clinical medicine. Participants
should also be able to evaluate the appropriateness of the clinical
data as it applies to their practice and to the provision of patient
care.
PARTICIPANTS
The NEJM Review CME Program is
specifically developed for primary care physicians who wish to advance
their current knowledge of clinical medicine and who are involved in
providing patient care. In addition, this program will better prepare
specialists to practice medicine in a primary care environment.
ACCREDITATION INFORMATION
The Massachusetts
Medical Society (MMS) designates each NEJM Review CME Program
for a maximum of 50 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. The MMS is accredited by the Accreditation Council for
Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education
for physicians.
This activity has been reviewed and is acceptable for
up to 50 Prescribed credits by the American Academy of Family Physicians. AAFP accreditation begins 3/1/09. Term of approval is for one year from this date, with the option for yearly renewal.
