A 37-year-old woman had an eating disorder characterized by frequent episodes of self-induced vomiting. She presented after accidentally swallowing a kitchen fork while attempting to induce emesis. Radiographs of the thorax show the location reached by the fork. The fork was surgically removed, and the patient had a good recovery.
