Looking Back on the Millennium in Medicine (Editorial, N Engl J Med 2000:342;42 - 49) . On page 46, the sentence that begins five lines from the end of the second full paragraph in the left-hand column should have read, “Simultaneously, David Baltimore and Howard Temin opened the way to genetic engineering,” not “David Baltimore and Harold Temin,” as printed. We regret the error.
