Survival of Medicare Patients after Enrollment in Hospice Programs (Special Article, N Engl J Med 1996:335;172 - 178) . On page 174, in Table 1, several of the median survival values were incorrect. The correct values are as follows: urinary tract, 34 days; colon or rectum, 34.5 days; female genital tract, 38 days; upper gastrointestinal tract, 38 days; head or neck, 44 days; lung, 31 days; breast, 50 days; central nervous system, 46 days; prostate, 43.5 days; and liver or biliary tract, 24 days.
