On page 1494, in the second paragraph under the heading “Treatment,” after the first sentence, the following sentence should have appeared: “Categories of risk and treatment strategies for men 35 years of age and older and postmenopausal women are shown in Table 2.1” In the next two sentences, the plasma LDL concentrations at which drug treatment should be withheld should have been 220 mg per deciliter (5.69 mmol per liter), not 190 to 220 mg per deciliter (4.91 to 5.69 mmol per liter), as printed; the reference to Table 2 should have been deleted; and the threshold value for drug treatment for plasma non-HDL cholesterol should have been 250 mg per deciliter (6.47 mmol per liter), not 220 to 250 mg per deciliter (5.69 to 6.47 mmol per liter), as printed.
